You can sprout what?

Oh, yes...you heard me!  The possibilities are endless.  Recently my husband went to an expo and found this simple little box from Sprout Master.   He was intrigued by the the nutritional value of sprouting.  The rep from Sprout Master gave my hubby a handful of mixed sprouts and he was hooked.  So he bought this sprouting box and since has jumped into experimenting.  It's crazy amazing what we have seen.
2 days ago we took Quinoa (keen-wah), Garbanzo beans, and Lentils, and soaked them overnight.
The next day we rinsed and drained each of them and put them into this fancy little white box.  I was a bit skeptical because the instructions said they would not remain in water.  Made me dizzy.  So following the directions like a good little biddy, I put them in this box and stacked them and topped with it's lid.  We rinsed again at bedtime...mind you, the bottom of each box has little holes to allow draining.

Today is day 3 and time to rinse again...and WOW...this is what I saw...

Ideally when the tails of the sprouts are approximately a 1/2 of an inch, this is when they are at their highest nutrition, and you want to put your box in the fridge to slow down the growth of the sprout.   This is when you get to munching.   As you can see from these pics...we're not quite there yet.  But oh so close!!

This has been a fun project and we can't wait to explore this further.  For more information on sprouting go to www.sproutmaster.com.

Happy Sprouting!!
